George Crain '48 Joins Chapter Celestial

George Allan Crain '48

On Thursday, October 10, 2019, George Allan Crain passed away at his home at the age of 90. George was born on January 26, 1929 in Muncie, Indiana to Donald and Isabelle (Brown) Crain. He received his 

degree from Purdue University, an Army veteran and worked for General Electric as a Security Manager until his retirement.

George married Margot Hegwein Crain on April 26, 1957. They raised one son, Michael Crain (wife Jennifer Thomas Crain) and two daughters Karin Crain Atterson (husband Dennis Atterson) and Monica Crain Carreiro (husband Joseph Carreiro). He also had 9 grandchildren: Megan Crain, Alex Crain, Anna Crain, Benjamin Atterson, Dylan Atterson, Brett Atterson, Christopher Carreiro, Jonathan Carreiro and Andrew Carreiro. 

George was an avid sports and music lover and enjoyed singing. He had a quick wit and enjoyed story telling. 

George was preceded in death by his father, Donald, his mother, Isabelle, and three brothers, Jack Crain, Richard Crain and Joseph Crain
